Remembrance Sunday 2020

Sadly this year, with the second national Covid-19 lock-down, we are unable to have our usual acts of remembrance. Poppy Wreaths are still being placed on the War Memorial but these will be done individually, not as a public event.

As South Mimms is part of Shenley Ward we are sharing here a link to the Shenley Parish Council website as they have made a video and will also be streaming a church service.

Whilst we can not gather together to remember our local fallen, their names will be read out on Potters Bar Radio and are listed below.

” Let us commemorate and commend to the loving mercy of our
heavenly father, the Shepherd of souls, the Giver of life everlasting,
those who have died in war for our country and its cause. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: age shall not
weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun,
and in the morning, we will remember them. ”
